Before School Care
Grades K – 5
The before school program is available at every Braintree Public elementary for grades K-5. Children enjoy creative activities with qualified B.A.S.E. teachers on-site before being accompanied to their classroom.
The program operates daily 7 – 8:45 am and 7 - 9am at the Monatiquot Kindergarten center.
After School Care
Grades K – 6
B.A.S.E.’s after school program for grades K – 3 is located at its main facility on 426 Pond Street and for grades 4-6 at Hollis Elementary School. Both sites are open daily, Mon- Friday, from the close of the school day to 6:30 pm. Parents can choose from 2,3,4, or 5 day enrollment.
The After School program provides students with after school care, including transportation from all Braintree Public elementary & middle schools. We are also open during school vacations and half days.
Our program employs highly qualified teachers from diverse backgrounds and experiences. They all have degrees in Early Childhood Education or a related field or are working toward their degree. Many of our teachers are state certified teachers with their Masters degrees. They are talented and creative people who truly enjoy working with children.
The combination of personalities, talents, experiences and skills at Braintree After School Enrichment blend together to create a harmonious and nurturing environment. All of our teachers are certified in First Aid and CPR. They are also all CORI checked.
We at B.A.S.E. are committed to providing safe, high-quality childcare for school-aged children (K-6). The program offers enriching, creative activities that help children grow according to their own developmental needs in an atmosphere of support and trust.
We offer many programs for the children including arts & crafts, homework time, cooking, and organized games to name a few.
We also offer many specialized activities for an extra fee including gymnastics, muay thai and dance.

B.A.S.E. Preschool is designed to provide children requiring full day/full year care, a balance of child-directed, enriching play with teacher-directed, small group lessons within a structured and routine environment. Children must be 2.9 years old in September to attend. Operational hours are 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. during the school year and 7:00-6:00 in July & August. B.A.S.E. offers a 5 day, full-day schedule only. Hourly rates and part-time enrollments are NOT available.
Eligibility & Enrollment:
The preschool is open to children from any local community. B.A.S.E. does not provide transportation to and from the center.
B.A.S.E., although open 12 months a year, follows the school year cycle when it comes to enrollment of new students and promotion. In September all new children begin in the class that is appropriate for their age and remain in that class until the end of August, at which time they move into the next class. Children must meet the following age cut-offs:
P1: 2 years 9 months or older by August 31.
P2: 3 years 9 months or older by August 31
P3: 4 years 6 months or older by August 31
For new families, enrolling in B.A.S.E. ‘s preschool begins with a phone call to the Director to provide her with basic information about your child and to discuss the enrollment timeline. We have limited openings each year so it is advised to contact B.A.S.E. 6 – 9 months prior to the September in which you would like your child to begin attending B.A.S.E.
The Director will then follow up with each family and invite them to visit B.A.S.E. The purpose of this visit is to familiarize the family with the program, review the school’s basic operations and to share information about the child.
Schedule & Curriculum
Operational hours are Mon-Fri, 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. during the school year and Mon-Fri, 7:00 am -6:00 pm in July & August. Children must arrive at B.A.S.E. no later than 9:00 am unless arrangements have been made with the director.
The preschool day is designed to offer children a balance of self-directed, open ended activities (“free play”) and teacher directed instruction that focuses on literacy, early math, science exploration and social concepts (self, family, community, traditions, etc.).
Lessons are conducted in whole groups, small groups and individually and follow the Mass. Preschool Guidelines for Learning Experiences (http://www.eec.state.ma.us/docs1/curriculum/20030401_preschool_early_learning_guidelines.pdf) and, for children ages 4.6+, the Mass Common Core Frameworks, PreK.
